RULES FOR ALL COMPETITIONS

Young Artist, College Masterclass, Jr. High

The recorded audition must be on a new, high quality cassette tape or a CD disk. Recordings must be unedited. The recording may include studio as well as concert performances as long as no editing has occurred. The recording device may be stopped between movements in mulit-movement works. Recording found to have been editied will result in the applicant's disqualification. There may by NO IDENTIFICATION on the recording or box and NO SPEAKING. The applicant's name, address, and competition entered must appear ONLY on the outer package. Recordings will be coded and sent to the appropriate judging committee with onlythe code number identification.

YOUNG ARTIST AND COLLEGE MASTERCLASS APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT TWO (2) COPIES OF THE RECORDING TO FACILITATE JUDGING.

Junior High Masterclass applicants will only need one copy.

Recordings become the property of the FFMS and will NOT be returned.

High School Soloist

The High School Soloist Competition shall take place on Saturday morning of the
festival. The entrant will perform a selection of his/her choice not to exceed six (6) minutes in length.
If the selection has accompaniment, accompaniment is required.
The winners will be annouced and perform later on Saturday. A letter of
recommendation from the student's private teacher or director is required
with the entry registration.
