Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 on April 10, 2026. Previous Mid-South first place winners are ineligible. Three finalists will be selected on the basis of recorded auditions to compete live in the final round at the 2026 Mid-South Flute Festival. The finalists will perform in the gala recital playing one of the three final round pieces, chosen by the judges.

Instructions for the Preliminary Round:
Recordings must be unedited or the entry will be disqualified.
Besides the application, name of file, and name of folder, any other form of identification will result in disqualification.
Preliminary Round upload due date: January 15, 2026
Rules for Final Round:
All participants will be notified of their status by January 20, 2026 and finalists must confirm attendance to the final round and pay the accompanist fee if applicable by February 15, 2026. The Mid-South Flute Society will provide a collaborative pianist for the final round repertoire for a $50 fee, or finalists can provide their own accompanist at their own expense. Finalists will perform one of the final round repertoire pieces at the Friday night gala concert decided by the competition jury. All finalists will receive written comments from the competition jury. The jury's decision is final.

- Record each required piece in an individual file using either wave or MP3 format.
- Label each file with your last name and title of the piece (e.g. smithconcertino.mp3 and smithsonata.mp3).
- Upload both files into a Dropbox folder and label that folder with your name.
- Share your Dropbox folder with the following email address: [email protected]
